Thread: High HCG levels
- 29-01-2008, 02:57 PM #11
I remember Lollie had extremely high HCG levels with her last pregnancy and it was a singleton. I guess it's possible.

Hi I had a dating scan as I didnt know my LMP. i was only just 5 wks, it was a little blob but it did have a heartbeat, my ob was very surprised because it was so little. I had another dating scan to confirm the dates at around 7 weeks, then I had a scan at 11wks (my first official ob appt) and yet another scan at 12wks!!! I've been very lucky to have so many scans and to see a heartbeat so early on. i have only had to pay for 1 scan so far and got back around $65
Are you sure your not having twins
I cant wait for the 20wk scan and then the 36wk scan gee, i'd have one every 2nd week if I could
Congratulations on your little bubba!!Me - 33

My hcg was 500 at 13 days past O and there is defenitly only one, The hcg levels can vary soooooo much. It sounds like you just might have a nice sticky one. YAY.
As for scans, I am 26 weeks and up to scan number 9 already, although 3 of them where because I had surgery to have my appendix out, two of them due to bleeding. But I still cant wait to see my bub again.Men men men men, yep thats all I live with! Even the budgie is a boy.

My friends level's were 3,800 at 16 DPO and she definitely only has one healthy bubba in the oven. And she went through fertility treatment so there was no way her dates could've been wrong. Sometimes if they implant early they release higher levels earlier on - but either way I am not aware of it being a bad thingME, DH + 4 = our family

with my first pregnancy, I was still having BFN's 4 days after AF was due. BT showed HCG level was only 21 at 19DPO. They didn't do a follow up and I wish they had... would have predicted the miscarriage.
With DS, I demanded the 2 tests... level was 132 at 15DPO then 2 days later, it was around 450.
This time, I was 15DPO when the BT was done and the level was 671. I had BFP's on 12DPO.
Im not really worried about miscarriage with levels like this... but I am worried there's something not quite right... considering for 15DPO the max should be 426. It's definately not the highest recorded on BetaBase tho! although, I changed the control group to women aged 18-30 and it's still higher
sorry, I rambled a little there.ME - 24 ♥ DF - 22

High levels can indicate Neural Tube Defects...........but I don't think your levels are high enough. At 5weeks my levels were at 15000+ and I had a son with Spina Bifida. My last pregnancy (which I lost) was much lower then the first.
With DS they were actually looking for twins.........but obviously there was only the one.
I don't want to scare you, as I said yours really arent that high...........I just thought I would make you aware of extremly HIGH levels....

My test for the NT came back with very High hCG levels.
It was 6.64 much over the recommended average of <2.5 at 12 wks.
I'm worried about why this is so high.
The scans looked good & other blood result normal.
The fluid in the neck was 2mm so near average.
We were given a risk of 1:29 for down syndrome.
