    Exclamation Pneumonia while pregnant

Has anyone had Pneumonia while pregnant?

Im 28 wks pregnant and after a week of being really sick got diagnosed today with Pneumonia........ So wondering if anyone has had it this far and longer in their pregnancy? Did you get over it alright or did it send you into premature labour? Anything you want to share would be great. Doc has put me on ventalin and strong Abs, had blood test and nasal swabs done today to check for other infections........

Im just feeling really down, and over coughing and wetting myself or spewing..........poor kids dont know what to do when i have a coughing fit. I was due to go on Maternity Leave in 3 weeks but started this week as im so sick.........

Sorry it turned into a bit of a rant

I had two bouts of it while pg and came through it fine. I had penicillin prescribed and daresay I would have only had one bout if I'd had a repeat prescription first time around. In my case I wasn't quite 100% after the first course, so the bug took hold again.

see yr dr for some treatment, as it is sooo tiring to have breathing issues while pregnant!

    Hope you're feeling better soon!

I had it at 38 weeks pregnant! Not fun. Was hospitalized and put on strong IV antibiotics. Did not cause preterm labour (I was wishing it would - I ended up being induced a week later). Bub was fine. I recovered fine.

Hope you recover very soon. If you can, listen to the doctors and rest as much as you can. My DH ended up having to take a week off work to look after me and DD1 because I was on "rest rest rest" orders.

I had it at 25 weeks pregnant with my 6yr old, I was in hospital on IV antibiotics, everything was fine with bub (that was when my pelvic floor muscles lost it though, lol)

Hope you feel better soon, rest up!
