    Default Babysitters

I have never used one, but a friend is applying to be an aupare (sp) and is wanting to get lots of experience.

What should I be paying her? I don't want to rip her off
Even though she would be happy with anything she was given.

I used to charge $15 an hour (being qualified childcare teacher) for one child or $20 for 2 children - I included travel in mine though as most of the kids I babysat for were over an hour from home.

I think about $15 an hour is a good start!! If it's a late night, say past midnight I would probably pay a little more maybe $18 an hour. That's for 1 child though. For 2 maybe add a couple of dollars per hour!

I work for a babysitting agency which charges $20 an hour from 6pm on, $22 per hour during the day. $4 has to go the agency and the rest is mine but, I have a current first aid certificate, working with childrens card, police clearance and family day care experience...

for your two? I think about $200 per 20mins is probably appropriate.
