Any phone geeks out there? ;)

So I need to upgrade my phone... I have an LG KP500 which I bought when we came back to Oz 2 years ago, and it's been pretty good but is starting to die a slow and painful death.

I'm tossing up between the Samsung Galaxy and the Nokia N8 (and possibly the iPhone4)... I know the Nokia Symbian OS is old and clunky, and the iPhone often has reception drop out issues... haven't heard anything terrible about the Galaxy, so that's the way I'm leaning right now.

I do like the camera and flash on the N8...

Someone convince me which way I should go? Or are there other decent options out there I should be considering (HTC Desire maybe?)

Music - DF just upgraded to the Galaxy yesterday thru Vodafone (we used to be on 3). I actually have it with me today as I was going to call Voda to make sure he had been full connected but it happened this morning anyway. Great phone. I have an iPhone 3GS and I am jealous of the Galaxy. Huge screen and Android is a much better OS than Apple.

So simple to use too which is a great for my technobimbo hubby LOL

PS - Hate the constant drop out with my iPhone. I wouldn't get a 4 as apparently the new iPhone will come out next year with a better OS and low drop out rate.

Go the Galaxy S - it rocks and kicks iphones ar$e !!

My sister is a total apple gleek (so sad and tragic infact that she has the apple logo tattooed on her wrist

) and she tried to convince me to go with the iphone - I played around with hers - and the galaxy is sooo much easier to use!!

You have to set up your email accounts to get things like the calender to work - but is definately a lot more user friendly!

Galaxy !! definately the galaxy.

its a wonderful phone! i have an iphone 3g and i LOVED it untill my DH brought home his galaxy!! LOL
its got an amazing bright crystal clear screen, the gps system works better then our garmen!! LMAO
his phone has better signal then my iphone and does not drop out unlike mine! grrr
the apps are pretty good, not as many as in the apple store but android phones are taking over.. the galaxy had the newest android OS (not sure if its been updated yet..) and its just much better designed than the iphone.. depending on your geekyness, one of the better features is thats its a more open software.. apple is very closed.. you can only access what they let you access (unless your a true geekling

overall its a great phone.. slimmer than the iphone... similar weights i think.. nice nice phone.. and the camera is pretty good on it too! OOOOHHHHHHHHHHH WAIT!!!! BEST feature?! HAS to be the cool texty thingy!! how do i explain it... instead of tapping every letter to type a word.. you drag your finger from one letter to another and it works out the word!! its amazing! try environmental... lol it gets it everytime! talk about clever!! lame i know... but its so freakin cool.. (ive drunk a 1.5l bottle of iced tea... i thing the caffeen is making me nuts... apologies, i just looked at my post and went whao)

I have a Galaxy and love it! It does everything I want it to do, the swype texting is awesome! and everyone I know that has an iPhone has cracked the screen!

I have an HTC Desire HD and it is AMAZING, I am very much in love with it

When I did my research it got better reviews than iPhone 4. Only problem with the HTC Desire HD is you can only get it on a Vodafone (Vodafail) contract and although they are spending a lot of money upgrading their services, the reception can currently be a bit hit and miss for some people

I wouldn't go with a Nokia, my last two phones before my HTC were Nokias and were very dodgy and both died within the same 2 year contract!. My Nokias prior to that had always been very reliable, they just don't make 'em like they used to!

I haven't even heard of most of these phones hahaha, i'm so not a phone geek lol. Just wanted to say if the Nokia N8 is anything like the Nokia X6 (which I have) don't get it, I hate it!

I just got the N8 yesterday and I love it. I must admit though I only got it because I could upgrade cheaply to it and it's the phone DH wanted lol So far it is easy to use and the camera is fantastic. Oh and it's a pretty blue colour
