Hey Sunshine, you can take Polaramine up until your 3rd trimester. Everything else is out the window because it has speed in it!

Polaramine is an old-style anti-histimine so it can make you a little drowsy. It didn't do anything to me.

Hope your pregnancy is going well xxx

Default Hayfever

I have suffered from hayfever badly this year too - since I was about 15 weeks pregnant. I checked with my pharmacist, midwives and also an Obs. They all recommended Rhinocourt nasal spray (apparently the nasal spray gets into your blood a lot less than tablets do) and Zaidten eye drops. I was amazed at how quickly the nasal spray worked - it stopped the symptoms straight away and within three weeks I didn't need to use it at all. The eye drops are also very useful, but you have to be careful which type you get as some are safe and others are not recommended during pregnancy.

I suffer from really bad hayfever and after being told by 3 different chemists there was nothing i could take I thought i was doing to die!
I called my Dr who told me i could take Rhinocourt nasal spray. I also asked my midwife and then called MOTHERSAFE(just to make sure . They all said it was safe. I don't know how i would have got through spring without it!

I suffer badly too!

I have been using Polaramine (if desperate) as it really doesnt do anything for me.

And also use Rhinocourt Nasal Spray which seems to do the trick.

I also find a cold face washer across my eyes for 10 minutes helps a little if they were itchy and bright red.. it provides a little relief but doesnt fix it.

Default Drug-free hayfever help! Great for pregnant and breast feeding mums.

I cam across HayMax some years ago and it's great. It's organic and drug free so absolutely fine when pregnant and breast feeding. It's a real simple nose balm. You wipe a small amount on the bottom of your nose and traps pollen before it gets in. Most important thing is it works! and it lasts ages and even smells nice. google HayMax and you'll get to their shop where you can get it online. Don't know if anyone sells it out there in OZ but you could always ask the people at HayMax. Hope this helps.
