Default Please help, did ANYTHING at all help your morning sickness?

Hello Everyone,

I have never had a naseous feeling before with my other 2 pregnancies and now I am paying for it with this one

So I have no idea how to cope and handle it, today is the first day I felt like I wanted to vomit all day and I am not coping too well!

Did anyone take the blackmores morning sickness formula and find it helpful??

I know people say to eat a few dry crackers before you get out of bed and small amonts during the day to not let your stomach get empty but I cannot think of even one thing I want to eat right all day my Dh forced me to eat half a piece of toast this morning and it did nothing.. the thought of eating makes me want to be sick

So please if you took and did anything to help your morning sickness can you please share it with me,

Thankyou!

U

I'm not going to be much help coz the only thing that helped me was eating!

Hopefully others have some more useful replies for you though and your m/s doesnt stick around too long!

I found going out for a brisk walk eased it, someone told me that when you do vigorous exercise your stomach shuts down. Seemed to work for me anyway!

The only thing that helped me was sleep For about 4-5 weeks the only time I didn't feel sick was when I was asleep.

Oh and Zofran (prescription medication) but at $7/dose it's ridiculously expensive (was worth it for me though, helped me get through work for a couple of weeks, and looking after a toddler).

Good luck, I am still vomiting once a day now, at almost 18 weeks, but I still remember the ALL DAY yuckies. For most people, morning sickness does fade after the first trimester, so you just gotta hang in there.

Other suggestions are

*Ginger - tablets/beer/ale/biscuits
*Making sure whatever you eat is dry and bland
*Vitamin B6
*Small, regular meals rather than fewer large meals (I know you don't have much appetite though)

Good luck hon, I know how awful it feels

The best and only thing that helped my m/s was keeping busy and trying not to think about it. Very hard when you are tired and have other kids to deal with. I did get prescribed some anti-nausea drugs from GP, but have no real way of knowing whether they helped - if anything they took the edge off.
I also found some lemon lollies to suck that seemed to keep my mind off it, I tried the ginger bears (ginger can help) but didn't work for me.

I'm sorry this is all I have, I wish there was a miracle cure, or even something that allowed you to get about your daily life easier.

I really hope the m/s doesnt last long for you and good luck for the rest of your pregnancy

Dry crackers really helped for me, Vita Weats in particular, I ate a box of them throughout each day at some stages.
Sorry I know that's probably not helpful.

Good luck.

I took the blackmores tablets, they did help take the edge off. Also eating almonds was good - they are quite bland and I found just having something in my stomach made a difference, so I snacked constantly. And as pp have said, resting lots!

Ginger beer worked for me. I drank tons of the stuff! And snacking. Letting myself get an empty stomach made it worse.

I too am suffering from morning sickness at the moment. I have been prescribed Maxcylon from my GP to stop vomiting. I still have the constant nausea in the stomach though. To reduce this I have been eating small meals consisting of bland foods such as toast, nuts, sandwiches etc. I have been wearing sea sickness bands around my wrists and that also reduces it. Sniffing lemons and anything ginger helps too. It is an individual thing though but try some of these methods....Hope this helps....I feel your pain!!
