I try to stay upright and drink water, including sleeping sitting up in bed.

i had been using Rennie's which worked fabulously until a couple of weeks ago- now have changed to zantac (the 12 hr ones, i take one morning and night) and they work a treat. Oh and its safe too and can be bought over the counter at pharmacist.

The other reason I changed to zantac was cos my iron levels are quite low and Rennies are calcium based (which inhibits the absorption of iron).

When pregnant I used quickeze........but it is interesting reading how many people used Zantac.

Some nearly 2 years ago I was having what we (doctor and I) thought were gall attacks and I was left with the most horrendous heartburn I had ever had.

I had 3 attacks over the weekend and was on my way to work Monday night, and the heartburn was horrendous, so I had some Zantac (for the first time) before leaving for work.

An hour later I was in the midst of an anaphylactic shock....................tingling in my ears, throat and lips, difficulty breathing and covered in welts. I was shipped of to our ICU, cannulated, heart monitored and medicated. Transferred to our large regional hospital a couple of hours later.

That's my Zantac story...........................

I hope the heartburn improves Presh................

Presh, I've just discovered that Lemonade Icypoles help I was eating them in bed the other night as it was so freaking hot, I was pleasently suprised when it dulled my reflux!
