Default short luteal phase... how did you length it?

Howdy girls...

my last 2 cycles have had luteal phases of 10 days and 9 days. i'm really struggling mentally with this as pre baby my body was spot on, which i am very grateful for.. but now it's just off

so for those who had this issue, how did you help lengthen it?

I've been taking maca root powder but keep forgetting so from today will take daily`... but wondering what else i can do natural`ly``.... and if it doesn't work naturally, what can doctors do?

It is a Buddhist belief that when a baby is miscarried, it just means it was not the right time for them to be on this earth. Their soul moves into a safe place, waiting for the right time to find another pathway into being another baby

RS - GBH hun. Go and talk to a naturopath and see if they can do anything for you. I vaguely (and this is vague ) something about vitex. But I wouldn't take that without a Nat's advice. I took it and got preg with S same cycle. Can't say it worked or not but I got UTD either way. I took the oral liquid version and it tasted like poo. I had to have a juice daily with it mixed in.

I second the Vitex RS.

Some big chemists have a natropath that u can talk to.... my grandmother is one and she recommended the vitex to me to lengthen my cycle, but my LP isnt the problem with my cycle so i am not taking it anymore.

As the other girls have said, Vitex is definitely meant to help if you have an LP defect (short LP). I have been taking vitex for other reasons (to bring my cycle length DOWN) but I do know that a lot of women take it to lengthen their LP. (I use the mediherb brand tablets under the supervision of my GP).

The other thing I've heard good things about, and am now incorporating into my daily pill popping (!!) is Vit B6. The key is to actually get a stand alone product (like Blackmores) as women's multi or pregnancy vitamins don't tend to have enough of it - from what I've read, approximately 100 - 200 mg per day sees the best results

Good luck!

Oh Em, sorry to hear AF arrived!!

I saw my naturopath last week, who told me of another naturopath in Prospect who specialises in fertility stuff and has had some great successes. I can get her contact details if you like?

I have heard Vitex and B6 both help too.....i took 2 weeks of Vitex then went onto Clomid (cant take theh at the same time) adn i also was having a 200mg of B6.....and i just got a BFP a few days ago......its likely the Clomid but i like to think the B6 is helping too

A word of warning i have found most Drs are not into teh 'natural' therapies!!! i hope your is good that way though

GL!!

timetraveller generally the egg needs at least 10 days to implant properly before your body starts its AF prep.....it can implant prior to 10 days and you still get UTD but it makes its much much harder and rarer......12 - 14 days is best......
