My DS will be starting Prep (Vic) in 2012. He will be going to a private school.
He is my youngest. I'm excited and also a little worried about how he'll be.
I plan to buy his uniforms in Dec and the shoes is Jan.

My middle DD is going to big school next year, and she's really excited and wants to go NOW! I'm happy that she's excited but I think the novelty might wear off like it did with my #1 DD.
But hopefully her enthusiasm might encourage DD#1 to get ready for school on time - she's a bit of a straggler.
I'm looking forward to sending her off to school too - because of what she'll learn, the friends she'll make, as well as the time it will give me (never time to myself but one less little person to please for a few hours of the day).
I've got some of the uniform already (had to hide it in the cupboard so she doesn't wear it out before school starts cos she wants to wear it every day) and will get the rest over the holidays as well as shoes.ME -

I just wanted to pop in and say a big good luck to all those kids starting school this year, and to their families. My son Bailey started school this time last year (at 4.5 yrs old). Its a big adjustment, but they will have lots of fun along the way. I esp wanted to send a shout out to kim and her darling daughter, who have had such a rollercoaster of a ride to get to this point. You are one amazing mother!
would love to hear some stories about how your little (big!) ones go

Hope all the kids have enjoyed their first days. The only problems we had was with the uniform. Alison is going to a private school and the previous supplier went bust, so anyway they did source a new supplier but they had troubles getting them in. The day before she started they finally got some in, only problem is we were only given 1 because they had to ration them out to everyone, so I have to wash and dry her uniform every day. Apart from that everything is great, Alison loves school and loves going, no tears the first day and she even told me I could leave lol.

My DS will be starting in term 2. I had a look at the uniform shop after dropping him off at kindy (they are right next door) and gee those things are expensive! They are going though a uniform change so he will need all the new stuff. At the moment the kids can wear any dark blue shorts/pants, but next year they have to have the uniform pants. At least this year we can just buy the shirts and jumper and get cheaper pants from Big W or Kmart and worry about uniform pants next year.

aww thanks for the compliment and for thinking of us Kate

DD is starting on thursday and had her better start assessment yesterday. Loved the teacher that did it and the other kindergarten teacher is the mum of one of the boys that went to DD's preschool and I really like her as well so will be happy with either teacher that DD has. Loved that the teacher yesterday had taken the time to read the mini essay Ide filled in on DD's enrolment forms.
DD is excited and a little nervous, Im excited for DD and happy as always with her major milestones in life, howver as for all major milestones with DD am feeling emotional about it, always brings back her start in life to me but I am determined to keep it together on thursday at least until Im back in the car hehe.
Im sure it will be like preschool where I feel emotional for a couple of days then its like she has always been going there
Good luck to all the mums with little ones starting I'm sure its emotional for all of you too
