My heart goes out to those bubbas and her husband :-(
I do wonder why this story with very little information is news...where are all the articles about mums dying in hospital after childbirth?

To me it doesn't matter about the where's and how's... a young mother has passed away and it is just SO so sad. Makes me cry that this husband and these two little girls have to now get through life without her.
I KNOW it will bring up a lot of debate and I really hope that decisions made won't take away a person's right to choose what is right for them.Taja & DH

Unfortunately tragedies like this can happen at home, or in the hospital. I don't know all the circumstances, and I doubt they'd be reportable, its just a very very sad thing to hear.

i saw an interesting article that had stats - 20 mothers die due to childbirth every year in hospital - compared to this one in 20 years.
see here
i think that just proves that you should be able to give birth anywhere...ME 29

Firstly I found the article very sad, sad that someone died, and the poor kids and husband that have to go through it. I also found the article interesting... interesting that they decide to report that a home birther died, what about the other mums who died in hospital. I think the only reason why an article like this is written and posted is to attract more readers because of the debate between home birthers and hospital birthers. Everyone has a right to choose and do what they think is right for them.
