Difflam throat spray!

I currently have a delightful ulcer that actually started off as 3 different ones that merged into one mega force! I get them in my throat quiet often and the spray is about the only thing that helps with the ones down there.

As far as things to help, vit b,c and zinc. For some people taking antacids helps as well cause they can be caused by a build up of acid in your system.

DH uses a mouthwash made by Colgate.. can't remember the name. It says on the front that its for ulcers etc. It works for him.

I've tried the betadine gargle and

PS - the dangly thing is called the uvula

EDIT - here's the mouthwash http://www.colgate.com.au/app/Colgat...teSavacol.cvsp

Hi there, I had exactly the same thing when 6 mths preg with DD1. It was so painful that i believed it was tonsilitis (i have tiny tonsils, so when inflamed they don't look it!) however GP just diagnosed a sore throat.

GP recommended difflam throat spray that is supposed to numb the area, however it worked only marginally and blocked my ears so much that I couldn't swallow properly. To this day I still have one blocked ear!

I gave that up pretty quickly and used to swallow a teaspoon full of honey or drink a warm honey/lemon drink. I sucked butter menthols as I was told that was the only thing that was relatively safe in preg.

GBH to you, pretty horrible hey. I hope you are feeling better soon

you haven't got a fishbone or something stuck... 3 weeks is a very long time to have an ulcer.... large ulcers are sometimes called 'major aphthous ulcers' and can recur... I would keep following it up til you get an answer or a cure!
