    Default Cheese in bread maker?

I want to try this Italian cheese bread in my panasonic bread maker italian cheese bread recipe | automatic bread machine recipes | ABM recipes | free recipes. But it asks to put cheddar cheese 'at the fruit and nut beep'. My bread maker doesn't beep as it has an automatic raisin and nut dispenser. And the manual says cheese and other moist ingredients should be put in at the beginning of the cycle.

So I guess I can put cheese directly in the pan with flour etc? Or is it gonna make a big difference if I put it in the raisin and nut dispenser? I'm just wondering if it'll melt in the raisin and nut dispenser....especially when I plan to time the baking so the cheese might have to stay in the dispenser for 6 hours before the machine starts making the bread....it's winter now though...

    Any ideas?

I'd put it in at the beginning. Mine has a beep (Breville) and its about 10 mins into the cycle, ie while its in the mixing phase and before it does the first rise.

Just a suggestion - I made cheese and bacon bread a while ago and put in about 1/2 cup of tasty cheese. You could barely taste it. So I'd either use more or use a strong bitey cheese

Sorry I just re-read and saw you want to use the timer. My book says not to use the timer with anything dairy, dairy sitting at room temp for 6 hours couldn't be good.

Yeha I wouldn't use it on timer. The dispenser won't work so well with damp stuff, like cheese anyway, so you could always add it 5minutes before the end of the first kneading cycle which is when my breville beeps.
