Default Rhinoplasty/Nose job

Has anyone else had one? I'm considering it yet terrified. I've been conscious of mine for the last 14 years. For those that had one, how long were you black and blue for ?

Oh I'll be watching this thread.

I want mine done too. It can be covered by medicare if your specialist deems it as a medical procedure.
I missed my opportunity a few years ago when I walked into a door (yes I really did) and created a hairline fracture that could have been exaggerated. But the way ds is currently smacking me with toys etc, I dont think it will be too long before another op comes up.

yeah, im interested to see responses too....

I also heard that medicare may cover it if its for medical reasons. I've been meaning to try and get a referral to an ENT, but never get round to it! I'm pretty sure my horrible nose is contributing to breathing probs a bit...I cant really breathe thru my nose, its too narrow!

Yes, I had one done about 8 years ago.

I went with a plastic surgeon in Coffs Harbour and it was a disaster!! He didn't do it right, so I had to have it re-done! Second time the anesthesia didn't work properly and I was fully awake and in pain while that ripped and shreaded my nose. I keep groaning and moving (as I was paralyzed from the anesthesia) and the Dr kept telling me to be quiet! Operation STILL wasn't done right so I went back for a THIRD time!!!

All in all, I have ended up with the exact same nose I started with!!

I had a crappy Dr and wasted over $6000!! That said, I would do it all again in a heart-beat, but next time, I will find a GREAT Dr who knows what the hell he is doing!! Grrrrrr.....

OMG Shelle!!! Now I'm freaked out!

I've seen them done actually - I used to be a surgery assistant to an ENT - and that really did FREAK me out!! It looks so painful and brutal. He wasn't gentle at all, but I guess that doesnt matter when you're out to it...

I dont reckon I'll ever get it done really...but its still always in the back of my mind.
