Hi ladies

I have a talented boy who started kindergarten this year, who's abilities are way beyond that of the other kids in the class, and I feel the teacher isn't trained/does not know how to address his needs. He goes to Northmead Public School as we are on the cusp of the region, but it would be the same distance to MP as it is to Northmead PS.

He is able to read most books presented to him, he understands the fundamentals of multiplication, has been able to count to 100 for 2 years now and is constantly wanting more stimulation in with maths and spelling/reading. In kindergarten, they start with the alphabet - which is fine because that is the norm, and the teacher's job is to teach the kids this - but what I am supposed to do for him to help him be stimulated? The teacher didnt really come up with anything to help address this in the parent teacher interview, which went on for half an hour trying to see what could be done to help him.

So my options have been:

1. Keep him in Northmead where he has started to settle, but also not really get any support (but the teacher has mentioned lack of social interaction with other children - I cant see this, he is fine every time we have people over with kids, when we go to the park/beach etc, he mingles with other kids very well)
2. Look into Matthew Pearce and see if he can get in - based on word that it is a better school, and they will take out of area if they see the child has talent - but would his abilities be supported there or will it just be the same?
3. Look into Private Schooling - what is there around here that is worth going back to work for to pay for schooling? We have just finished building our house so we wont be moving anywhere any time soon!
4. Look into private tuition - where do I start on this one! Advice please!

Any tips/pointers about my options here are appreciated.
