When you get ovary pain
How far up can you feel it? I have been having pain on and off for the last few weeks that feels like ovary pain but it feels like right up at the bottom of my rib cage - is this possible?
I can't for the life of me remember where I used to feel it before I had DD2

When I tried to explain to my doctor where I feel my ovulation pains she said i was right on the money. I made a fist right above my pubic bone where my uterus would sit and it is always an inch or two to the left or right of that, pretty much exactly where they would sit. They can sit up much higher in some women but they wouldn't be that high. Might be worth getting it checked out ...

Yes, that is exactly where I feel it too.
I have been experiencing some pain under my right rib cage on and off recently. Feels like a really bad stitch (but I'm not walking!) I happened to mention it one day when I had friends over and my friend told me that was my gallbladder. I researched it a little more and was having other symptoms that confirmed it.
Do you only get it on your right side? If so, could be your gallbladder.Me (34)

ooo good point - My gall bladder attacks were quite severe but I felt them in a fist spaced area right in the middle, under my ribs. When I tried to explain it to the nurses in emergency I said I wanted to stick my hand right into the bottom of my chest cavity and rip it out
It did start to niggle just to the right lower side of my ribs. Actually the area you're talking about is dead centre of my 4 scars from the keyhole surgery to remove my gall bladder

Thank you both!
Yes, I have one gallstone and I did originally think that it was my gallbladder.
But then two nights over the last few weeks I have woken up to this horrendous (and thankfully very short lived!) pain in my left side in nearly the same spot.
I went to the doc today and she seems to think my right side is my gallbladder but has no explanation for the other side.
The only other thing I can think of is when I lean in to do up the carseats I kind of have to lean on that part of my body - but I haven't done that for a few days and it is still a little sore (right side).Last edited by Samantha2; 28-04-2010 at 12:31 AM.
