Baby girl name help needed
Hi all,
We are expecting our first baby in a matter of weeks and are struggling to find a name. We both REALLY like the name Luella Eden (or LuLu for short). The only problem is none of our family like the name and now they are putting us off the name too.
Is Luella Eden really an awful name?

i think its beautiful!!
dont let them put you off...the fact that youve got a name you both love is a blessing in itself (my DH and I just cant agree at all)
They will love the name as much as they love your beautiful little girl as soon as they get used to it :P
That said...you dont say if its a girls name...if you're having a boy then maybe you should listen to your family :P

I think the name is sweet and you shouldn't be turned off by others opinions. We generally don't share our names until the baby is born, then no one can say anything bad... it's locked in lol!

I think the name is lovely. Eden was one of my choices for DD but when she was born it just wasn't right IYKWIM.
And I LOVE Lulu. Our friends have a daughter and her actual name is Lulu. It's lovely.
Dont worry about what your family think, we purposely never told our family or friends because we wanted it to be 100% our choice with no opinions.
Have whatever name you like, in the end, you are the ones that have to use the name 300 times a day
Your family wont care about the name as soon as they fall in love with your baby.ME 29

I really like it. But most of all, if you like it, go for it, nobody else should get a say in this except you & your partner.

I think it's a lovely name. I have never told anyone of chosen names until baby is born either because once the baby is born then that's it - everyone will have to get used to it because you're not changing it. Go with your heart.
I struggled with naming #3 and she had no name for 6 weeks until we finally found the perfect one!ME -

Luella Eden is a beautiful name and it's different too. Don't let your family change your minds, stick with it. After all it is your baby and you as parents get to choose the name.
I know I have a pretty warped sense of humor, but if I were in your situation I'd probably start a list of really horrible or incredibly ancient names, or things that people just should not call their children, like Apple! Make sure they are really weird and wacky. Then present them with a list, with Luella Eden on the top. They will soon fall in love with Luella Eden as a name too. And you will get a laugh out of something that is stressing you out!
I just googled weird baby names & shakespare characters and stated whacking things together.
Here's an example to get you started:
Luella Eden (your chosen name)
Hermia Lychorida (Shakespearean)
Ursula Viola (Shakespearean)
Happy Easter (unique names)
Katnis Lettice (unique names)
Wilda Posy (unique names)
Now which name do you come back to?
Have fun!
